The HD Club is a place to discuss High Definition, its technical, creative and financial implications in the production and post-production workflows.
The HD Club, is an association that unites the main professional players in the High Definition market. It focuses all its efforts on 8 top priority areas:
Promoting the protection of and respect for the quality of audiovisual programmes by giving preference to the development of fully High-Definition production and post-production workflows for the various audiovisual media.
Encouraging the production, post-production and distribution of programmes carried out in High Definition on all broadcasting channels (DUB-T, satellite, cable, high-bandwidth streaming, DVD, cinema) – via communication campaigns aiming at producers.
Taking action with respect to public, national and European authorities, to give preference to economic development for the production of High Definition programmes.
Organising briefings between the various members of the association and market players: producers, manufacturers, publishers, technical service providers, networkers, and public, national and European public bodies.
Analysing the influences of HD on creative modes.
Offering foreign buyers of programmes the opportunity to contact French producers of High Definition programmes.
Encouraging shooting in France, by setting up a liaison office helping foreign productions to find local technical and human resources having a command of HD.
Offering practical and technical information on HD via the website, and the association’s newsletter.
